2020-03-04 Shaldon and Ringmore led by Christine

Christine writes:-

On a very wet, miserable day 17 brave walkers met in Shaldon for the walk around Shaldon and Ringmore.

We walked beside the river Teignbridge and crossed over the main road towards Ringmore. We walked along the Ringmore Road and stopped at St Nicholas church. We were able to go inside the church.  We continued our walk up the road and then crossed over the road and walked along Higher Ringmore Road.  We turned left into Brookvale Orchard and followed a footpath, running with water, until we reached the road. We continued walking up and then cut through a housing estate to the Torquay Road. We walked up the road to Homeyards Botanical Gardens. Unfortunately the weather was so diabolical we were unable to see the wonderful views from the gardens. We walked down Horse Lane, also running with water, and along the Strand back to The London Inn. We were all pleased to b3 able to peel off our wet clothes! 18 of us enjoyed the lunch there.  As we left the pub the sun came out!
