On an overcast, chilly “Summer’s Day” thirteen walkers met in Ivybridge and set off for Longtimber Woods and the woodland path following the lovely River Erme – passing along the way the old sheep pound used by farmers to move their sheep from the moor in days gone by and the old reservoir converted to a swimming pool by the American Troops stationed locally. Close to the river is a boundary marker and a stone with a carved bowl used by the tinners panning the river for fragments of tin.
It was then on to the Brunel Viaduct –  ending the walk at the old Papermill.

Lunch stop was at Endsleigh Garden Centre – also a chance to browse!
