2021-07-07 Noss Marina to Kingswear. Led by Norma

This was the first group walk after all the Covid lockdowns. Great to meet up again!
Seven of us met at the car park just up the road from Noss Marina. It was sunny and dry with a slight breeze – perfect for walking.
After going up through the woods to the road, we walked down to the Higher Ferry.
We then followed the path alongside the R. Dart and the the steam railway to Kingswear.
Unlike pre-covid times, we passed several other walkers enjoying their staycation. As always, there was lots to see – craft of every description, birds, wild flowers and of course, the train!
From Kingswear Station we walked beside Waterhead Creek, through the little park and up the road to the gate into Hoodown. The path gradually climbs through the woods until we find ourselves high above the estuary. The views across the river to Dartmouth, Britannia Naval College and surrounding hills are wonderful!
The now level path through the woods leads into Bridge Road and back towards our cars.
After the walk, 6 of us enjoyed a great value meal at the Whiterock Beefeater.
